Micropiles can be used to support large load, with the ability to be easily installed in difficult situatations such as boulders, solid rock or undocumented fill. A micropile is a deep foundation element that constructed to withstand axial and/ or lateral load gaining most of its strength from the grout fiction and steel reinforcement. They can be installed in restricted headroom or access sites, applications where liquefication may be an issue from pile driving, or if need to minimize vibration or noise. They help to reduce or eliminate spoils at Hazardous or contaminated sites. Montana Helical has been installing Type A, B, C, D and E as reference by Federal Highway Administration FHWA-NHI-05-039.
