New Construction Foundations

Helical Piers, Micropiles, Driven Pile, Vibro-Rammed Engineered Aggregate Pile

Whether it’s a new building, addition to an existing office, or some other structure being built, CHANCE® Helical Piles are a reliable, tested and proven economical deep foundation solution for overcoming sites with expansive soils, high water tables and fill areas where unstable soils require specialized support. Oftentimes when additions are being made adjacent to an existing structure, a low impact deep foundation method is needed in order not to disrupt ongoing operations.

Ensure A Solid Foundation For Your New Building

Soils vary in type, composition, and strength. The differences can be significant. Some soils are very strong and can support significant weight, while other soils are weak and compress under light loads.

Making sure that the soil you are building on is stable enough to support the weight of your building is a vital component to ensuring the long-term stability and health of your building. To stabilize your building’s foundation, helical piles are installed deep down into the harder load bearing strata. The weight of your building will be transferred off of the weak soils and onto the helical piles, Micropiles or alternative deep foundation system.

New Construction Foundation Solutions

Micropiles

Micropiles can be used to support large load, with the ability to be easily installed in difficult situatations such as boulders, solid rock or undocumented fill. A micropile is a deep foundation element that constructed to withstand axial and/ or lateral load gaining most of its strength from the grout fiction and steel reinforcement. They can be installed in restricted headroom or access sites, applications where liquefication may be an issue from pile driving, or if need to minimize vibration or noise. They help to reduce or eliminate spoils at Hazardous or contaminated sites. Montana Helical has been installing Type A, B, C, D and E as reference by Federal Highway Administration FHWA-NHI-05-039. If you have any questions on micropiles please contact us!

Driven Piling

Across the Northwest we install all typed of driven pile from H piles for water towers to sheet pile cofferdams for excavation support as well as large diameter pipe piling. We utilize diesel, vibratory and air hammers. Our hammers utilize environmentally friendly oils and lubricants.

Drilled Shafts / Augercast Pile

Montana Helical Piers is a leader in the deep foundation industry drilling large diameter DCIP shafts.

Across the Northwest we install all typed of driven pile from H piles for water towers to sheet pile cofferdams for excavation support.

Engineered Aggregate Pile / Vibratory Stone Columns

WHAT IT IS

Columns of compacted granular material installed to increase stiffness of fine-grained soils or to densify coarse-grained soils.

HOW IT WORKS

Utilizing a Vibroflot, a dense column of stone if formed and repeated until required stiffness is achieved. The layout of stone columns reinforces the surrounding matrix and improving its overall characteristics.

WHY USE

Help to reduce long term settlement, increase soil strength and bearing capacity and mitigate the risk of liquefaction allowing support of almost any size structure. We have installed for Montana State University, Blackfeet Tribe, Polson Wastewater Treatment Plant, and difficult sites around Idaho, Washington and Wyoming.

CHANCE Helical Pile Foundation System

The CHANCE Helical Pile is a segmented deep foundation system with helical bearing plates welded to a central shaft. Load is primarily transferred from the shaft to the soil through these bearing plates.

They install easily with our specifically designed hydraulically powered torque motor.

As a result of their true helical shape, the helices do not auger into the soil but rather screw into it with minimal disturbance. The first section is called the lead or starter section and contains the helical plates. Extensions are added to the helical pile system until load bearing strata or necessary torque capacity is achieved.

The CHANCE Helical Pile Foundation System can be devised to resist or support any load or applications. The helical pile foundation provides engineered support for grade beams, footings, concrete slabs and columns, for both compression and tension loads. And it’s fast. It can be installed with lightweight construction equipment and loaded immediately. There’s no concrete curing time, and predefined capacities are predictable, putting you in control.

Advantages Of CHANCE Helical Pile Foundation System For New Building Construction:

  • fast installation & immediate loading
  • eliminates high mobilization costs associated with driven piles, drilled shafts, or auger cast piles
